アジア開発銀行の新総裁に浅川前財務官　来年１月に就任

　【シンガポール時事】アジア開発銀行（ＡＤＢ、本部マニラ）は２日、新総裁に浅川雅嗣前財務官（６１）を加盟６８カ国・地域の全会一致で選出したと発表した。２０２０年１月１７日付で第１０代総裁に就任する。１９６６年のＡＤＢ設立以来、日本が歴代総裁を輩出し、主導的な役割を果たしてきた。
　ＡＤＢは、中尾武彦総裁が辞任する意向を示したことを受け、総裁選を実施。日本政府が推薦した浅川氏に対抗馬はなく、事実上の信任投票だった。
　麻生太郎財務相は談話を発表し、浅川氏の選出に謝意を示した。また、浅川氏が「国際金融、経済協力、国際租税の分野で培ってきた豊富な経験を生かして、総裁として素晴らしい活躍をすることを強く期待している」と述べた。（2019/12/02-11:39）

The Asian Development Bank said Monday Japan's former top currency diplomat Masatsugu Asakawa has been elected president of the ADB.
   The 68 member economies of the Manila-based international lending body voted unanimously for Asakawa, who had been vice finance minister for international affairs until July this year.
   He will on Jan. 17 next year become the 10th president of the ADB, whose top post has been taken up by Japanese finance and monetary officials since its establishment in 1966.
   The ADB held the presidential election, which was actually a vote of confidence due to the absence of other candidates, after incumbent President Takehiko Nakao expressed intention to resign on Jan. 16 before his current tenure expires on Nov. 23, 2021.
   Asakawa will serve for Nakao's remaining term.
