ながら運転、反則金引き上げ　あすから、普通車３倍に

　スマートフォンや携帯電話を使いながら自動車などを運転する「ながら運転」の厳罰化を盛り込んだ改正道交法などが１２月１日施行される。普通車では、反則金が３倍の１万８０００円に引き上げられる。
　普通車以外の反則金は、大型車が７０００円から２万５０００円、二輪車が６０００円から１万５０００円、原動機付き自転車は５０００円から１万２０００円に変更される。事故を起こしかねない危険を生じさせた場合は、反則金ではなく刑事罰の対象となる。
　違反点数は１点から３点に、事故の危険を生じさせた場合は２点から６点にそれぞれ引き上げられる。
　さらに、罰則も「５万円以下の罰金」を「６月以下の懲役または１０万円以下の罰金」とするなど強化される。
　携帯電話の使用などに起因する交通事故件数は２０１８年に２７９０件と、１３年の２０３８件の１．４倍に増加。死亡事故の割合は、携帯電話を使っていなかった場合の２．１倍に上った。（2019/11/30-13:39）

Japan tightened regulations on Sunday on the use of mobile handsets including smartphones while driving, under amendments to the road traffic act and other laws.
   Drivers of standard vehicles found using smartphones or mobile phones while driving will face a fine of 18,000 yen, a threefold increase from the previous levy.
   The fine was raised from 7,000 yen to 25,000 yen for large vehicle drivers, from 6,000 to 15,000 yen for motorbike riders and from 5,000 yen to 12,000 yen for scooter riders.
   The traffic penalty point rose from one to 3, with the point rising from 2 to 6 when the risk of accident is confirmed.
   In case of a danger of traffic accident, criminal punishment will be imposed. An offender will face up to six years in prison or a fine of up to 100,000, compared with a fine of up to 50,000 yen previously.
