バンクシー作品？再展示　防潮扉のネズミ絵―東京

　正体不明の芸術家「バンクシー」の作品ではないかと話題を呼んだ東京都港区の防潮扉に描かれたネズミの絵が２５日、同区内で展示された。都は「落書きは許されない」とする一方、地元から「地域資源として見学できるようにしてほしい」と要望を受け、一般向けに当面展示することにした。
　絵は傘を差すネズミがカバンのようなものを手にした姿で、都が防潮扉の一部を取り外しガラスケースに収納。日の出ふ頭２号船客待合所（同区）の壁にボルトで固定され、無料で見学できる。
　都によると、昨年１２月に東京国立近代美術館の館長（当時）から「バンクシーと作風が似ている」と指摘を受け、防潮扉を取り外して保管。今年４～５月に都庁で公開した際は、３万５０００人以上が訪れた。
　絵はバンクシーの作品集などに登場するネズミと似ているが、都は「作品の真贋（しんがん）は現時点では不明」と判断した上で、「公共物への落書きは決して容認できない」と説明する。一方で、地元の「にぎわい向上にも資する」とし、防潮扉のあった場所に近い待合所での展示を決めた。
　バンクシー作品に詳しい東京芸術大大学院の毛利嘉孝教授は、描かれた所にも意味があるため、異なる場所での展示に疑問を呈しつつも、「日本でもストリートアートを保存したり楽しんだりする文化が広まってほしい」と話した。（2019/11/25-09:00）

The Tokyo metropolitan government Monday started displaying an artwork possibly by anonymous street artist Banksy at Hinode Pier in the Japanese capital's Minato Ward.
   The painting of what appears to be a mouse holding an umbrella was found on a tide gate in the ward. Locals asked that the artwork be used as a tourist attraction.
   The exhibition will "contribute to livening up the local area," the metropolitan government said. But it also stressed that "graffiti on public property is not acceptable."
   The metropolitan government removed the work from the site and placed it in a glass case after the then head of the National Museum of Modern Art in Tokyo said in December last year that "the work's style is similar to Banksy's."
   Visitors can see the work on a wall of a waiting room at Hinode Pier, near the original site of the graffiti, for free.
