福島処理水、正確な情報を　韓国環境担当相、小泉氏との会談で要請

　来日中の韓国の趙明来環境担当相は２３日、北九州市で小泉進次郎環境相と会談した。趙氏は、東京電力福島第１原発から出る放射性物質トリチウムを含んだ処理水について、正確な情報提供をするよう日本政府に要請した。
　処理水の取り扱いをめぐっては、原田義昭前環境相が退任直前に、海洋放出が望ましいとの考えを表明。韓国政府が懸念を示していた。

　韓国側は、処理水に言及すると事前に日本政府に伝えておらず、会談の最後に話を持ち出したという。趙氏は「日本の政策努力を理解しており信頼している」と強調しながらも、「科学には不確実性がある」と指摘。引き続き科学的根拠に基づいた情報を伝えるよう求めた。
　これに対し小泉環境相は、処理水の取り扱いは政府内で検討中で決定していないことや、これまでも駐日外交官向けに説明の機会を設けていると紹介。会談後、記者団に「今後も丁寧に情報を伝える考えだと先方に伝えた」と語った。（2019/11/23-20:56）

South Korean Environment Minister Cho Myung-rae Saturday called on Japan to provide accurate information about tainted water from Tokyo Electric Power Company Holdings Inc.'s crippled Fukushima No. 1 nuclear plant.
   Cho made the request during a meeting with Japanese Environment Minister Shinjiro Koizumi in Kitakyushu, Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan, while saying he understands and trusts Japanese policy about the matter.
   In response, Koizumi said the Japanese government has yet to make a decision on how to dispose of the water in which tritium, a radioactive substance, remains even after treatment.
   Koizumi also said Japan has held a briefing session for diplomats about the matter. Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Koizumi said he told Cho that Japan will continue to provide information carefully.
   South Korea expressed concerns earlier this year after Koizumi's predecessor, Yoshiaki Harada, said that there is no alternative but to release the tainted water into the ocean.
