生保大手、７社減益　低金利、円高響く―９月中間

　生命保険大手９社の２０１９年９月中間決算が２２日、出そろった。本業のもうけを示す基礎利益は日本生命保険など７社が減益だった。世界的な金利低下を受け、商品としての魅力が落ちた外貨建て保険の販売が苦戦。超低金利と円高で資金運用難に悩まされた生保も目立った。
　減益だった７社のうち３社は２桁減。日本生命と第一生命ホールディングスは円高の影響で外国債券の利息収入が目減りした。富国生命保険は販売強化を狙い、営業職員の採用を増やしたことがコスト増につながった。増益を確保できたのはＴ＆Ｄホールディングスと朝日生命保険の２社にとどまった。
　売上高に当たる保険料等収入は５社で減少した。不適切販売問題で揺れるかんぽ生命保険は営業自粛で新規契約が取れず、前年同期比１１．７％の減収。第一生命や明治安田生命保険、住友生命保険は外貨建て保険の不振に足を引っ張られた。一方、ソニー生命保険は外貨建て保険の保険料改定前に駆け込み需要があり、２２．８％の大幅増収だった。（2019/11/22-18:18）

Seven of nine major Japanese life insurance firms posted lower core business profits for the April-September fiscal first half from a year earlier, as they were hurt by low interest rates.
Low interest rates worldwide made foreign currency-denominated insurance products less attractive. In addition, some of the insurers faced difficulties in investment due to a strong yen as well as low interest rates.
