純白の大屋根、来春開業　高輪ゲートウェイ駅公開―ＪＲ東

　ＪＲ東日本は１６日、２０２０年春の開業を予定している山手線新駅「高輪ゲートウェイ駅」（東京都港区）ホームなどを報道公開した。品川―田町間にできる同駅の工事は１７年２月から始まっており、駅舎などが完成に近い状況になったという。
　同駅は山手線と京浜東北線の列車が停車し、地上３階、地下１階。駅舎の高さは約３０メートルで、折り紙をモチーフにした約４０００平方メートルの白い屋根が目立つ造りとなっている。

　公開された駅ホームには、既にエスカレーターやホームドアが設置されていた。２階にはイベントスペースなどが設けられる予定。
　同社東京工事事務所の牧野俊司・品川プロジェクトセンター課長は「工事は９割方終わっている。１日１００人が３年かけて造ってきた」と話した。（2019/11/16-10:53）

East Japan Railway Co. , or JR East, showed platforms and other facilities of Takanawa Gateway, a new station it is building on its Yamanote Line in Tokyo, to the media on Saturday, ahead of its planned opening in spring 2020.
   Work to build Takanawa Gateway Station, located between existing Shinagawa and Tamachi stations on the busy loop line, started in February 2017, and construction of the station building is nearly complete.
   Having three stories above ground and one below, the new station in Minato Ward of the Japanese capital will accommodate trains of the Keihin-Tohoku Line, as well as the Yamanote Line. The station building is about 30 meters high and features a 4,000-square-meter white roof designed in the motif of origami folding paper.
   Escalators and platform screen doors have already been installed on the platforms of the station. An area to be used for events will be constructed on the second floor of the building.
   "About 90 pct of the construction work has already been done," JR East official Shunji Makino said. "Over the nearly three years, about 100 workers have been engaged in the construction work each day," he said.
