安倍首相、違法性を否定　「参加者が全費用負担」―桜を見る会ツアー釈明

　安倍晋三首相は１５日夜、毎年４月に催してきた首相主催の「桜を見る会」をめぐる一連の問題について、首相官邸で記者団の質問に応じた。多数の地元有権者を同会に招待していたことについて、首相は「夕食会を含めて旅費・宿泊費等の全ての費用は参加者の自己負担で支払われている。安倍事務所なり安倍晋三後援会としての収入・支出は一切ない」と釈明。公職選挙法・政治資金規正法違反との指摘は当たらないと強調した。
　首相は、旅費と宿泊費は参加者がそれぞれ旅行代理店に支払ったと主張。夕食会の会費５０００円に関しては「会場の入り口の受付で安倍事務所の職員が集金し、ホテル名義の領収書を手交し、受け付け終了後に全ての現金をホテル側に渡していた」と述べ、自身の事務所は代理徴収したにすぎないと説明した。

　野党は首相側が費用を補填（ほてん）していれば公選法違反に当たる可能性があると追及。首相側の金銭のやりとりを政治資金収支報告書に記載していなければ規正法違反だと批判している。
　首相は、ホテルでの夕食会費５０００円は安過ぎるとの指摘に関しては「大多数が当該ホテルの宿泊者という事情等を踏まえ、ホテル側が設定した価格だ」と主張。招待者が多過ぎるとの批判には「年数を経るごとにだんだん多くなった。そのことは反省しなければならない」と語り、招待基準の見直しなどを進める考えを示した。

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on Friday denied violating the public offices election law or the political funds control law over his hosting of an annual cherry blossom-viewing party.
   "All the costs of travel and accommodation, including for a dinner party, are shouldered by guests," Abe told reporters. "There was no income to or spending by his offices," he said.
   Abe said guests paid travel expenses and accommodation fees to travel agencies and that his office received 5,000 yen per person in participation fees for the dinner for the annual event on behalf of the hotel.
   Opposition lawmakers claim that Abe may have violated the public offices election law if his side covered related costs or the political funds control law if it failed to describe related financial transactions in its political funds reports.
   On a claim that 5,000 yen was too little for dinner at the hotel, Abe said, "The hotel side set the price based on the fact that many of the invitees were its own guests."
