Ｇ７、五輪開催支持へ　菅首相出席、英サミット１１日開幕

　菅義偉首相は１１～１３日に英国南西部コーンウォールで開かれる先進７カ国首脳会議（Ｇ７サミット）に出席し、新型コロナウイルス対応や気候変動問題で国際協調を呼び掛ける。夏の東京五輪・パラリンピックを安全安心な大会として開催する決意を改めて伝え、Ｇ７首脳も支持を表明する方向だ。
　首相は１０日夜に政府専用機で日本を出発し、１４日に帰国する予定。首相が就任後、Ｇ７サミットを含めて海外で行われる国際会議に出席するのは初めて。コロナ収束に向け、途上国を含むワクチンの公平な供給の重要性を訴え、日本としても資金面を中心に貢献する考えを表明。２０３０年度の温室効果ガスを１３年度比４６％削減する日本の目標についても説明する。
　国内外で厳しい声がある東京五輪について、首相は万全な感染対策を講じた上で開催する方針を重ねて示す。バイデン米大統領、ジョンソン英首相から支持を取り付けている菅首相はＧ７全体に賛同の輪を広げ、首脳声明にも明記することで開催への弾みとしたい考えだ。
　サミットでは世界経済や自由貿易に加え、欧州でも関心が高まる中国問題も討議する。中国をめぐっては新疆ウイグル自治区での人権侵害、香港情勢、東・南シナ海問題、台湾問題への対応が焦点。外務省幹部は「各首脳がどういう対中観を示すか。今後の国際情勢の方向性を決める重要な会合だ」と指摘した。
　菅首相は３日、サミットを含む国際会議への出席経験が豊富な安倍晋三前首相と意見交換した。この後、菅首相は記者団に対し「非常に有意義だった」と述べた。
　サミットには議長国のジョンソン首相やバイデン大統領らが参加。トランプ米政権時代に亀裂を深めたＧ７の再結束を打ち出す。菅首相はサミットに合わせ、初顔合わせとなる各国首脳との個別会談も調整している。（2021/06/04-07:11）

Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga is set to call for international cooperation in dealing with challenges including the novel coronavirus pandemic and climate change, at the summit of the Group of Seven major industrial nations in Britain on June 11-13.
   Suga will also reiterate his country's determination to hold this summer's Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics safely and securely in defiance of the pandemic.
   His G-7 counterparts are expected to voice support for the holding of the Tokyo Games, which have been put off from 2020 due to the spread of the virus, sources familiar with the situation said.
   Suga is slated to leave for Britain aboard a government jet on the night of June 10 and return home on June 14. It will be the first time for Suga to attend an international conference abroad since he took office in September 2020.
   At the summit among Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and the United States plus the European Union, Suga will stress the importance of ensuring equitable distribution of COVID-19 vaccines, including to developing countries, and show Tokyo's plan to make active contributions to vaccine rollouts, mainly through financial assistance.
