菅首相、処理水放出「復興に不可避」　ミャンマー情勢、米と協議―国会

　衆院決算行政監視委員会は１２日、菅義偉首相と関係閣僚が出席して２０１６、１７両年度決算について審議した。首相は、東京電力福島第１原発の放射性物質を含む処理水を海洋放出する方針を固めたことに関し、「福島の復興に避けて通れない、先送りできない課題だ」などと理解を求めた。
　共産党の高橋千鶴子氏の質問に答えた。首相は「漁業者らに風評被害の懸念から反対の声がある」と認めた上で、「処分開始までの２年程度の期間に、安全性に問題がないことを国民と世界に理解いただけるよう努力したい」と語った。
　これに関連し、東京電力ホールディングスの文挟誠一副社長は放出完了にかかる期間について「廃止措置（廃炉）に要する３０～４０年を有効に活用したい」と語った。
　一方、国軍による市民弾圧で６００人以上の死者が出ているミャンマー情勢に関し、首相は「経済協力の今後の対応は（安定化に）何が効果的かという観点から検討している」と強調。１６日に米ワシントンで開催予定の日米首脳会談で対応を協議する考えを示した。立憲民主党の山内康一氏への答弁。（2021/04/12-16:18）

Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga urged on Monday understanding from parliament over the government's "unavoidable" plan to release treated radioactive water from the disaster-crippled Fukushima No. 1 nuclear power station into the ocean.
   "It is an unavoidable issue that cannot be delayed for the reconstruction of Fukushima," Suga said at a meeting of the Committee on Audit and Oversight of Administration in the House of Representatives, the lower chamber of parliament.
   Suga and other cabinet members attended the committee session for discussions on government spending in fiscal 2016 and 2017.
   The government is expected to formally decide on the ocean release of treated water from the Tokyo Electric Power Company Holdings Inc. nuclear plant in Fukushima Prefecture, northeastern Japan, soon.
   In response to a question from lawmaker Chizuko Takahashi of the opposition Japanese Communist Party, Suga admitted that the plan has met opposition from the fisheries industry due to concerns about possible radiation-related reputational damage to marine products caught in the area.
