ソニー、アイボを無償提供　コロナ入院のストレス軽減

　ソニーと医療情報サービスのエムスリーは８日、新型コロナウイルスの治療などに当たる医療機関へ犬型ペットロボット「ａｉｂｏ（アイボ）」１００台を無償提供すると発表した。コロナの影響で面会制限などを余儀なくされている入院患者のストレス軽減につなげたい考え。
　受け入れ先を３月８日まで募集し、下旬から順次発送する。医療機関には効果を検証する調査への協力を求める。
　アイボは１９９９年発売。２００６年にいったん生産終了となったものの、１８年に高度なＡＩ（人工知能）を搭載して復活した。飼い主に甘えたり、しつけによって性格が変化したりする特徴を持っており、ソニーは「入院患者の孤独や不安に寄り添う癒やしを提供したい」（広報部）と話している。（2021/02/08-18:29）

Sony to Offer Aibo Robotic Pet to Hospitals

Sony Corp. said Monday that it will offer 100 units of its Aibo dog-like robotic pet for free to hospitals in Japan, including those treating patients with the new coronavirus.
Sony and its partner in the project, M3 Inc., a medical service information provider, aim to have Aibo help reduce stress in hospitalized patients who have been restricted to see visitors amid the epidemic.
