東京２３区の成人式、相次ぎ中止　緊急事態宣言方針で―新型コロナ

　政府が東京都など４都県に緊急事態宣言を再び発令する方針となったことを受け、４日時点で都内２３区のうち少なくとも１２区が、今月１１日に予定されていた成人式を中止する方針であることが分かった。新型コロナウイルスの感染防止が目的で、代替策として動画配信や記念品の送付などを行う。
　このうち、世田谷区は昨年末に中止を決めていたが、台東区や港区など大半の自治体は政府の再発令の動きを踏まえて判断。例年約８００人の新成人が式典に集まる台東区では、代替策として恩師からのビデオレターなどを閲覧できるウェブサイトを開設し、記念品も送付する。参加者が約２５００人に上る葛飾区は、無観客で式典や記念コンサートを行い、録画映像を区ホームページで公開する。
　台東区の担当者は「苦渋の判断だが、式典前後に会食し、感染が広がるリスクがある」と指摘。式典を中止しても友人同士で会食する可能性はあるとして「会食を我慢するよう、改めてお願いするしかない」と話す。
　新成人にとっては晴れの舞台であることから、開催の可否を慎重に検討している区も。豊島区の担当者は「式典は感染対策に万全を期して準備を進めてきたが、他区の動向も見ながら決めたい」としている。（2021/01/05-07:09）

Coming-of-age ceremonies will not take place live on Jan. 11 in a majority of Tokyo's 23 wards due to spikes in novel coronavirus cases in the capital, informed sources said Monday.
   According to the sources, municipal governments of at least 12 wards have canceled the live events.
   Setagaya Ward already decided to forgo its ceremony, while most others did so after Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga clarified at a press conference Monday that his administration aims to declare a fresh coronavirus emergency in Tokyo and nearby Chiba, Kanagawa and Saitama prefectures later this week.
   Among those wards, Taito, whose ceremony is usually attended by some 800 new adults, plans YouTube distribution of congratulatory remarks by guests including its mayor and video messages from former teachers of those who are turning 20 between April 2 and April 1 next year. The ward will also send gifts to them.
   "We had to make a tough decision," a Taito municipal government official said. "Because the event gives participants opportunities to have parties and, thus, spread the virus."
