東芝、氷点下で使える次世代電池　２０年代実用化へ、再エネ後押し

　東芝は１９日、水系リチウムイオン二次電池（水系電池）と呼ばれる次世代電池を開発したと発表した。電気を起こすための電解液に不燃性の水溶液を使って安全性を高めたのが特長で、世界で初めて氷点下での充放電を可能にした。再生可能エネルギーで発電した電力を蓄える蓄電池向けなどで２０２０年代の実用化を目指す。（2020/11/19-00:10）

Japan's Toshiba Corp. said Thursday it has become the world's first to develop a next-generation aqueous lithium-ion battery that can charge and discharge at subzero temperatures.
The new battery uses an incombustible aqueous electrolyte solvent, replacing combustible solvents used in conventional lithium-ion batteries. As a result, the risk of fire accidents decreases.
