塩野義、年度内の治験開始断念　コロナ治療薬

　塩野義製薬は３０日、開発中の新型コロナウイルスの治療薬について、今年度内の臨床試験（治験）開始を断念すると発表した。有効性と安全性の検証に時間がかかると判断した。
　治療薬に関しては、手代木功社長が６月の中期経営計画の説明会で、年内にも臨床試験開始ができるとの見通しを示していた。ワクチンは、予定通り年内に治験に入る見込みという。（2020/10/30-21:20）

Shionogi & Co. said Friday it has abandoned a plan to start a clinical trial for a coronavirus treatment by the end of the fiscal year through March 2021.
The Japanese pharmaceutical company found it would take more time to evaluate the treatment's effectiveness and safety.
