９月コンビニ売上高、３％減　最大手セブンは増加

　日本フランチャイズチェーン協会が２０日発表した９月のコンビニエンスストア売上高は、既存店ベースで前年同月比３．０％減の８６６７億円だった。７カ月連続のマイナスとなったが、たばこ増税前の駆け込み需要を主因に減少率は８月（５．５％減）から縮小した。来店客数は１１．１％減と８月（９．３％減）から拡大し、新型コロナウイルス感染拡大の影響で客足の回復は見通せない。
　業界全体としては苦戦が続いたが、最大手のセブン―イレブン・ジャパンは売上高が２．４％増加した。総菜や冷凍食品を前面に押し出すレイアウト変更が奏功し、昨年１０月（３．４％増）以来１１カ月ぶりの高い伸びとなった。一方、ファミリーマートとローソンはそれぞれ４．７％、５．５％の減少となり、コロナ禍の中、需要取り込みの戦略により明暗が分かれた。（2020/10/20-18:24）

Japanese convenience store sales in September fell 3.0 pct from a year before to 866.7 billion yen on a same-store basis, down for the seventh straight month, industry data showed Tuesday.
Sales fell at a slower pace than a 5.5 pct drop in August, the Japan Franchise Association said, but that was chiefly due to moves to buy more cigarettes ahead of a tobacco tax hike this month.
