ＳＮＳで混雑情報、期日前増設も　投票所の感染対策調査―総務省

　総務省は、新型コロナウイルス感染の収束が見えない中、各自治体の選挙管理委員会が投票所で講じた感染対策に関する調査結果をまとめた。それによると、インターネット交流サイト（ＳＮＳ）を利用した投票所の混雑情報発信や、期日前投票所の増設などの実施例が判明。１年以内の衆院解散・総選挙を見据え、同省はこうした先進的な取り組みを推進したい考えだ。
　調査は無投票を除き、４月１日から７月１２日までに行われた１３４件の選挙が対象。緊急事態宣言が発令中だった衆院静岡４区補選や、東京都知事選なども含まれた。
　調査結果によると、ＳＮＳによる情報提供に工夫を凝らしている実態が浮き彫りとなった。東京都町田市は、ツイッターで投票所の待ち時間を随時発信。静岡市では、ホームページ（ＨＰ）などに過去の選挙での曜日別・時間帯別の混雑状況を掲載した。
　また、投票の分散化を目指し、ほぼ全ての選管が期日前投票を呼び掛けた。その上で、期日前投票所での「３密」を回避するため、投票所の増設や投票期間の延長、バスを活用した移動投票所の導入といった事例が見られた。
　マスクやフェースシールドの着用、消毒液の設置などは全ての自治体が実施していた。
　コロナ禍の選挙をめぐり、政府は「選挙は民主主義の根幹を成すもので、不要不急の外出には当たらない」との立場。総務省は感染対策を徹底した上で実施するよう、各選管に求めている。
　一方、来月３日の米大統領選では、感染拡大に伴い郵便投票が増加。日本でも総選挙を前に、要介護者などに限定している郵便投票の拡大を求める声が上がる可能性もある。（2020/10/19-20:34）

Countermeasures against the novel coronavirus have been used in many local elections in Japan, including the use of social medial to avoid congestion at polling stations, a government survey has revealed.
   The survey by the internal affairs ministry found that the election boards of some local governments also increased the number of early voting stations as part of efforts to prevent coronavirus infection.
   The ministry aims to promote such efforts in the fight against the virus to prepare for a dissolution of the House of Representatives, the all-important lower chamber of parliament, for an election that needs to be held within a year, sources familiar with the situation said.
   The survey covered coronavirus countermeasures taken by election boards in a total of 134 local elections conducted between April 1 and July 12.
   The elections included a Lower House by-election in Shizuoka Prefecture, central Japan, in April that was held when the Japanese government's state of emergency over the coronavirus was in place, and the Tokyo gubernatorial election in July.
