百貨店４社、売上高激減　コロナ打撃、３社が営業赤字―８月中間

　百貨店４社の２０２０年８月中間決算が１５日、出そろった。新型コロナウイルスの感染拡大に伴う店舗の臨時休業で、売上高が前年同期比で３～５割の激減。営業損益では３社が大幅な赤字に転落。大丸松坂屋を傘下に持つＪ・フロントリテイリングだけが２億円の黒字を確保した。
　赤字額は、高島屋が１０２億円、そごう・西武が３６億円、松屋が２２億円。いずれも店舗の臨時休業や営業時間短縮が響いた。臨時休業中の人件費などコロナ関連の特別損失は、高島屋が１０３億円、松屋が１６億円を計上した。
　入国制限で訪日外国人消費はほぼ消滅し、各社とも大都市部での苦戦が鮮明となった。大丸心斎橋店や西武渋谷店など、売り上げが前年の半分以下に落ち込んだ大型店も目立った。東京都心に全２店舗を構える松屋も売上高が半減した。（2020/10/15-19:39）

Four major Japanese department store operators logged 30-50 pct year-on-year sales drops for March-August due to temporary store closures amid the novel coronavirus epidemic, according to their earnings reports released by Thursday.
Three of the four firms fell deep into the red in their operating balances in the first half of fiscal 2020, while J. Front Retailing Co. , which runs Daimaru and Matsuzakaya stores, reported an operating profit of 200 million yen.
