日米豪印、アジア太平洋戦略で連携　ポンペオ氏が中国批判

　日本、米国、オーストラリア、インド４カ国の外相が６日、東京都内で会談した。各外相は「自由で開かれたインド太平洋」構想の実現に向け、自由貿易や「法の支配」など価値観を共有する諸国との幅広い連携を目指す方針で一致。４カ国による外相会合を定例化し、年１回のペースで継続することでも合意した。
　米国のポンペオ国務長官は、新型コロナウイルスの世界的流行に触れ「中国共産党が隠蔽（いんぺい）したことで事態は悪化した」と非難。「この大変なパンデミックに勝利し、共に経済を再建したい」と呼び掛けた。
　ポンペオ氏はまた、南シナ海、東シナ海、台湾海峡などを挙げて「中国共産党の腐敗、搾取、威圧から人々を守らなければいけない」とも語った。（2020/10/06-22:14）

The foreign ministers of Japan, the United States, Australia and India agreed Tuesday to cooperate with many other countries that share the same values, including free trade and the rule of law, to achieve the free and open Indo-Pacific vision.
   The four ministers reached the agreement at a meeting in Tokyo.
   Touching on the worldwide spread of the novel coronavirus, U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said that the situation worsened because the Communist Party of China staged a cover-up.
   He called on his counterparts to work together to defeat the pandemic and rebuild the world economy. Mentioning the South China Sea, the East China Sea and the Taiwan Strait, Pompeo also stressed the need to protect people from the Chinese party's corruption, exploitation and coercion.
   With China in mind, Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi said that international order has been facing challenges in various fields in recent years. The pandemic has further incited such moves, he warned.
