米農業保険大手を買収　４００億円超―ＳＯＭＰＯ

　ＳＯＭＰＯホールディングス（ＨＤ）が米農業保険大手を買収することが５日、分かった。買収額は４００億～５００億円規模。世界的に自然災害が多発する中、作物価格の下落などをカバーする農業保険のニーズが高まっており、収益基盤を強化する。
　買収するのは米穀物輸送会社ＣＧＢグループの保険部門で、米農業保険市場でシェア４位。ＳＯＭＰＯＨＤは６位のアームテックを傘下に持っており、今回の買収でシェアはトップと並ぶ約１７．５％に上昇する。（2020/09/05-16:39）

Sompo to Acquire Major U.S. Crop Insurer

Sompo Holdings Inc. will acquire a major U.S. agricultural insurance provider in order to strengthen its earnings capacity by capitalizing on growing demand for crop insurance amid an increase of natural disasters across the globe, it was learned Saturday.
The major Japanese nonlife insurer will spend around 40 billion to 50 billion yen to buy Diversified Crop Insurance Services, the insurance arm of U.S. crop transport company CGB Enterprises Inc. DCIS is the fourth-largest player in the U.S. agricultural insurance market.
