芸術祭トリエンナーレ閉幕＝「不自由展」で注目－愛知

　愛知県内で開催されていた国際芸術祭「あいちトリエンナーレ２０１９」が１４日、７５日間の会期を終え、閉幕した。期間中は、従軍慰安婦を象徴する少女像が展示された企画展「表現の不自由展・その後」の中止で注目を集め、表現の自由をめぐる議論も巻き起こした。
　大会実行委員会会長の大村秀章知事は同日、名古屋市内の会場で記者団に対し「反省すべきことは多々あった。検証し、次なる取り組みにつなげたい」と強調。芸術監督の津田大介氏は「中止という悪い事例をつくってしまったが、企画展が再開できて本当によかった」と振り返った。

　最終日も県内外から多くの人が会場に足を運び、展示作品を鑑賞した。実行委事務局によると、１４日も会場内で大きな混乱はなかった。会期中に訪れた人は６５万人以上で、過去最高に達する見通しという。
　表現の不自由展は同日、抽選で選ばれた約２２０人が鑑賞。京都府の３０代女性会社員は「前回は中止が決まった日に訪れたので、今回鑑賞できて本当によかった。違和感を覚える作品もあったが、企画自体を中止するのはおかしい」と話した。（2019/10/14-19:53）

The Aichi Triennale 2019 art festival including a controversial exhibition featuring a statue of a girl symbolizing so-called comfort women came to a close on Monday.
   As the 75-day festival in Aichi Prefecture, central Japan, ended, Aichi Governor Hideaki Omura, head of the event's organizing committee, told reporters that there were many things that should be regretted, adding that he will look back and reflect the examination in future projects.
   Daisuke Tsuda, artistic director of the festival, said that although the cancellation of the exhibition set a bad precedent, he is glad that the exhibition was reopened.
   The "After 'Freedom of Expression?'" exhibition was suspended soon after the opening on Aug. 1 as its content, including the comfort women statue, faced a storm of protest. Comfort women, mainly from the Korean Peninsula, were forced into prostitution for Japanese troops before and during World War II.
   The prefectural government reopened the exhibition in early October.
