北米で車台共有　コスト削減、提携強化―ホンダ・米ＧＭ

　ホンダと米ゼネラル・モーターズ（ＧＭ）は３日、北米市場で提携を強化すると発表した。プラットフォーム（車台）やエンジン、電気自動車（ＥＶ）の電動システムを共有する。生産・開発コストを削減し、インターネットに常時接続するコネクテッドカー（つながる車）などへの投資に振り向ける。
　２０２１年初頭に、共有する車台などの共同開発を始めることを目指す。部品の共同調達も進める。ホンダとＧＭはこれまで、自動運転などでも協業してきた。今年４月には米国などで発売する新型ＥＶ２車種の共同開発で合意しており、対象を拡大する。ただ、資本提携の可能性に関しては否定している。
　新型コロナウイルスの影響に加え、「１００年に１度」とも言われる変革期を迎えた自動車業界では、電動化や自動運転など次世代技術で各社の提携が進んでいる。（2020/09/03-23:27）

The Japanese and U.S. automakers hope to lower development and production costs so that they can boost spending on projects related to vehicles connected with the Internet constantly.
