コロナ解雇、３万人に迫る　休業復帰、回復兆しも

　総務省が３０日発表した５月の労働力調査では、新型コロナウイルス感染拡大に伴い、完全失業者数（季節調整値）が前月比１９万人増の１９７万人と、３年ぶりの水準に悪化した。厚生労働省が把握するコロナによる解雇者数も２９日現在で、２万９２３７人と、３万人の大台が目前に迫る。ただ、緊急事態宣言の解除を受け、休業からの復帰も進むなど一部では回復の兆しも見られる。
　雇用環境が特に厳しいのは観光関連だ。労働力調査によると、ホテルやレストランなど宿泊・飲食サービス業の就業者数は５カ月連続で前年を下回り、産業別の休業者数も７９万人と最多となった。観光業の比率が高い沖縄県は全国で唯一、就業地別の求人倍率が１倍を切る。
　一方、５月の労働力調査では、４月に休業していた人のうち、４４％が仕事に復帰したことも判明。仕事がなくなった人は６．６％で、残りの約半分は依然として休業が続いている。４月の休業者数は過去最多の５９７万人を記録し、失業者の急増が懸念されていた。
　５月の有効求人倍率は過去２番目の急落だったが、緊急事態宣言の解除に伴い、求職活動を再開した人が増えたことが倍率の低下につながった面もある。季節調整値では就業者数や新規求人数がプラスに転じており、厚労省は「４月に比べ経済活動が再開し、明るい動きも見られる」と指摘した。（2020/07/01-07:08）

Coronavirus-Linked Layoffs Near 30,000 in Japan

The number of workers confirmed to have been laid off because of the coronavirus crisis came to 29,237 as of Monday in Japan, according to labor ministry data.
   Amid the severe employment situation, the number of jobless people in May increased by 190,000 from the previous month to a three-year high of 1.97 million, according to a labor report released by the internal affairs ministry Tuesday.
   The spread of COVID-19 has battered employment especially hard in the tourism industry.
   The number of workers in the hotel and restaurant industry decreased from a year before for five months in a row, according to the labor report.
   Workers placed on leave numbered 790,000 in the industry, highest among the surveyed industries.
