外国潜水艦が潜航　中国海軍か、奄美接続水域―防衛省

　防衛省は２０日、外国潜水艦が１８日に鹿児島・奄美大島沖の接続水域内を潜ったまま西進したと発表した。海上自衛隊の護衛艦と哨戒機が監視した。同省関係者によると、中国海軍の潜水艦とみられ、特異な行動として分析している。
　潜水艦は１８日午後に奄美大島北東の接続水域内を西進。２０日午前には、横当島（鹿児島県）の西の海域（接続水域外）を西に進んでいるのが確認された。トカラ列島と奄美大島間の狭い海域を潜航したという。国際法上、潜水艦は領海内では浮上して国旗を掲げないといけないが、接続水域（領海の外側約２２キロ）を潜航することは禁じられていない。
　防衛省は潜水艦の国籍について「自衛隊の探知能力を含む手の内を明かすことになるため、国籍や潜水艦の種類を答えることは差し控える」としている。河野太郎防衛相は、緊張感をもって、情報収集・警戒監視に万全を期すよう指示した。（2020/06/20-21:15）

The Defense Ministry said Saturday that a foreign submarine headed west underwater in a contiguous zone northeast of the southwestern Japan island of Amami Oshima, Kagoshima Prefecture, on Thursday afternoon.
   Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force destroyers and patrol aircraft are monitoring the submarine, which was traveling west outside a contiguous zone west of the prefecture's Yokoate Island on Saturday morning, according to the ministry.
   Defense Minister Taro Kono issued instructions to make every possible effort to collect information and conduct vigilance and surveillance with a sense of tension.
   The activities involved P-3C patrol aircraft mainly of the Naha base in the southernmost prefecture of Okinawa and destroyers of the Sasebo base in the southwestern prefecture of Nagasaki and the Kure base in the western prefecture of Hiroshima.
