初対面県議にも３０万円　河井前法相「当選祝い」―参院選買収事件・検察当局

　昨夏参院選をめぐり、広島県の地元政界に多額の現金が配布された公選法違反事件で、買収容疑で逮捕された衆院議員で前法相、河井克行容疑者（５７）＝自民離党＝が、普段付き合いのない複数の県議らにも現金を渡していたことが２０日、関係者への取材で分かった。初対面の県議にも３０万円を提供していたという。
　東京地検特捜部などの検察当局は、こうした県議らからも任意で事情聴取。２０１９年７月の参院選で妻の参院議員、案里容疑者（４６）＝同＝の当選を確実にするため、初対面の議員にまで現金を配布したとみて捜査しているもようだ。
　河井容疑者の選挙区と離れた県南部選出の県議によると、昨年４月の統一地方選後、事務所を訪れた河井容疑者から現金３０万円入りの封筒を受領した。初対面だったが、同容疑者は帰り際、「当選祝い」と言って封筒を置いていったといい、検察当局の聴取にも受け取りを認めたという。
　同様に選挙区が離れた地域選出の別の県議も同月、河井容疑者から３０万円を受領。この県議によると、同容疑者は「（当選）おめでとう」と現金入りの封筒を差し出した。検察当局の聴取には「確かに受け取ったが、返した」と説明したという。同容疑者との関係について、「選挙区が違えば関わりは無い」などと話した。
　検察当局の調べによると、河井容疑者は１９年３～８月、票の取りまとめなどの報酬として県議や地元首長らに約２４００万円を提供。案里容疑者と共謀し、計１７０万円を渡した疑いが持たれている。
　多くは統一地方選の「陣中見舞い」や「当選祝い」名目だったとされ、弁護人によると、河井容疑者は「不正な行為は一切していない」と容疑を否認。案里容疑者も「違法な行為をした覚えはありません」と否認している。（2020/06/20-13:36）

Former Japanese Justice Minister Katsuyuki Kawai gave 300,000 yen even to a politician totally new to him in hopes of securing votes for his wife, Anri, in an election last year, it was learned Saturday.
   Kawai, 57, and Anri, 46, were arrested Thursday on suspicion of buying votes in the July 2019 election of the House of Councillors, the upper chamber of the Diet, the country's parliament.
   In the poll, she was elected to parliament for the first time, running from the prefectural constituency of Hiroshima. Her husband is a member of the House of Representatives, the lower chamber, from a constituency in the western Japan prefecture.
   A prefectural assembly member in a constituency in southern Hiroshima, far from Kawai's constituency, received from him an envelope containing 300,000 yen in cash just after unified local elections in April 2019, according to the assembly member.
   It was when Kawai was about to leave following their first meeting, the assembly member said, adding that when Kawai left the envelope he said it was to celebrate the assembly member's election win.
