パンダと再会「じっくり見たい」　４カ月ぶり開園、ファン期待―上野動物園

　「じっくり見て楽しみたい」。新型コロナウイルス流行で臨時休園が続いていた上野動物園（東京都台東区）。混雑緩和のための事前予約が１６日に始まり、２３日の再開が近づいてきた。園の顔、ジャイアントパンダは観覧中の撮影が禁止されるなど制限下での開園だが、ファンは４カ月ぶりの再会を心待ちにする。
　パンダを撮影した写真を自身のブログ「毎日パンダ」に載せている会社員高氏貴博さん（４２）＝さいたま市大宮区＝もその一人だ。仕事の合間などに連日通い詰め、２０１１年夏からはシンシンとリーリーを、１７年冬からは子のシャンシャンを加えた３頭の様子を見守り続けてきた。

　２月２９日の休園を受け、ブログの「きょうのパンダ」記録は２７０５日でストップした。６月１２日の誕生日にもシャンシャンに会えなかったが、高氏さんは「２～３時間待ちの行列になることもある。混雑や職員の負担を考えれば仕方なかったと思う」と理解を示す。
　当面は密集を避けるためパンダの撮影はできないが、「残念だが、それはそれで楽しみがある」と声を弾ませる。混雑するパンダ舎ではこれまで、観覧時間が１～２分に制限されていたため、「写真を撮ることに夢中で、一目も自分の目でパンダを見ない日もあった」と苦笑。「写真を気にせずにじっくり観察できる機会。楽しみです」と話し、３頭との再会を待ち望んでいる。（2020/06/16-13:19）

Panda lovers are looking forward to seeing their favorite bears at Tokyo's Ueno Zoo for the first time in four months, as the zoo began accepting advance registrations for entry Tuesday before its June 23 reopening.
   The animal park in Taito Ward, closed amid the coronavirus epidemic, introduced the reservation system to reduce crowding as an infection prevention measure. It will also impose other limitations such as banning the photography of its popular giant pandas.
   Takahiro Takauji, a 42-year-old company worker from the city of Saitama, north of Tokyo, is one such panda fan. He used to visit the zoo every day during breaks at work to take photographs of the pandas for his blog "Mainichi Panda."
   He recorded the activities of Ueno Zoo's pandas Shin Shin and Ri Ri on his blog from summer 2011, and also of Xiang Xiang, a cub born between the two, from winter 2017.
   The blog's streak of daily posts featuring panda photographs taken each day was halted at 2,705 days when the park closed on Feb. 29. Takauji was not able to see Xiang Xiang on her birthday last Friday.
