コロナ対策で特許無償開放　トヨタ、キヤノンなど数十万件

　新型コロナウイルスの診断・治療技術の開発を後押しするため、トヨタ自動車やキヤノンなど約２０社が、特許をはじめとする知的財産を無償で開放することが３０日、明らかになった。対象となる特許は数十万件に達するとみられ、他の企業や研究機関にも幅広く参加を呼び掛ける。新型コロナ対策に取り組む企業などを支援し、技術開発を加速させる狙いがある。
　知的財産を開放するのは、他に日産自動車、ホンダ、コニカミノルタ、ニコン、味の素、帝人、島津製作所など。原則として世界保健機関（ＷＨＯ）が新型コロナ流行の終結を宣言するまでの間、対策への使用に限定し、各社の特許などを無償で使えるようにする。（2020/04/30-20:13）

Japan Firms to Release Patents for Free Use in Virus Fight

Some 20 Japanese companies will release their intellectual property rights, including patents, for royalty-free use to develop diagnosis and treatment technologies for the new coronavirus, informed sources said Thursday.
The number of patents to be released by the companies, including Toyota Motor Corp. and Canon Inc. , are expected to total several hundred thousands, the sources said.
