「自粛いつまで」歓楽街悲鳴　三つの密、避けられず―立ち入り自粛要請・歌舞伎町

　新型コロナウイルスの感染リスクが高いとして、東京都の小池百合子知事が立ち入り自粛を呼び掛けた「夜の街」。日本有数の歓楽街である新宿・歌舞伎町では、接客業や飲食店の関係者から「自粛はいいが、いつまで続くのか」「自分たちにも生活がある」と悲鳴が上がった。
　小池知事が記者会見を行った直後の３０日午後９時すぎ。歌舞伎町で目につくのは飲食店やカラオケなどの客引きが大半で、閑散とした街頭に普段の喧噪（けんそう）は見られなかった。店舗の無料案内所に立っていた呼び込みの男性は、「見ての通り壊滅ですよ。お客さんになりそうな人が全然歩いていない」と苦笑した。
　男性は都の自粛呼び掛けについて、「正直勘弁してくれとは思いますけど、だらだら営業しても赤字を垂れ流すだけですからね」とため息。周囲では時短営業や休業に踏み切った店も多く、「はっきり『行くな』と言ってもらったほうが店も休みやすい」と諦めたように話した。
　小池知事が警戒を呼び掛けたのは、密集、密接、密閉の「三つの密」がそろう場所だ。あるキャバレーの関係者は「これまでその『密』を売りにしてきたのに。店内の消毒や体温管理はしているが、抜本的対策は無理だ」と顔をしかめる。労働組合「キャバクラユニオン」によると、営業日やシフトを減らしている店が多く、働く女性の収入も減少しているという。
　狭い区画に木造の建物が密集する歌舞伎町１丁目の新宿ゴールデン街も、人通りは少なかった。ある小規模なバーに貼られていたのは、客の占師が書いたという「コロナ即滅疫病退散」のお札。バーの従業員は「売り上げは以前の４分の１。国や都が営業停止命令をしなくても、このままではどんどんつぶれていくと思う」と肩をすくめた。（2020/03/31-13:31）

Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike's request for residents to stay away from nightspots to contain the new coronavirus has shocked owners and employees at nightclubs and bars in the Japanese capital.
   In Kabukicho, one of the largest entertainment districts in Japan, people related to the nightlife industry voiced concern about when the stay-away request will be lifted, and how much of a blow it will deal to their livelihoods.
   At a press conference Monday evening, Koike called on residents to refrain from visiting such places as bars and nightclubs, where authorities say the risk of infection is particularly high.
   Around that time, Kabukicho streets usually teeming with people were quiet. Most people there were street touts trying to lure customers into restaurants and karaoke rooms.
   "As you can see, it's devastating," said a street tout standing in front of a nightlife information center. "There are no potential customers walking about," the man said.
