山岳遭難者、最多の３５６８人　２年連続更新―警察庁

　昨年に全国で発生した山岳遭難は３１２６件で、遭難者は３５６８人に上ったことが１３日、警察庁のまとめで分かった。いずれも統計が残る１９６１年以降最も多く、最多更新は２年連続。外国人観光客の遭難者数（１４５人）も、統計を取り始めた２０１８年以降で最多だった。死者・行方不明者は計３３５人で、前年より８人増えた。
　遭難者は７０代が７９０人と最も多く、６０代以上が半数を占めた。都道府県別では、長野の３３２人が最多で、北海道２４５人、東京２３３人と続いた。
　山岳別で遭難者の増加が顕著だったのは、富士山と高尾山、穂高連峰で、それぞれ２２年までの５年間の平均と比べ９０．２％、６８．４％、４８．１％増えた。（2024/06/13-10:15）

Record 3,568 People Stranded on Mountains in Japan in 2023

The number of people who got stranded on mountains in Japan rose to 3,568 in 2023, the highest level since the statistics began in 1961, National Police Agency data showed Thursday.
   The number of stranded cases also hit a record high of 3,126.
   The number of foreigners accounted for 145, the highest since comparable data became available in 2018, growing 1.4-fold from the level in 2019, before the COVID-19 pandemic.
   Of the total, 335 people died or went missing, an increase of eight from 2022.
   Of those stranded, 790 people were those in their 70s, the largest group, with those in their 60s or over accounting for half of the total.
