不明隊員７人、死亡と判断　哨戒ヘリ衝突墜落事故で―海自

　東京・伊豆諸島の鳥島沖合で４月、海上自衛隊の哨戒ヘリコプター２機が訓練中に衝突、墜落した事故で、海自は１１日、行方不明のままの搭乗員７人が死亡したと判断したと発表した。現場で収容され死亡確認された副操縦士を含め８人全員を１階級特別昇任とし、所属基地で葬送式を行う。
　哨戒ヘリ「ＳＨ６０Ｋ」２機は４月２０日、潜水艦探知の夜間訓練中に連絡が取れなくなった。海自は回収したフライトレコーダーの解析などから衝突して墜落したと断定。海底地形を調べる海洋観測艦を派遣するなどして機体や不明者を捜索していたが、現場周辺は水深が５０００メートル以上あり、手掛かりは見つかっていなかった。
　死亡と判断されたのは、長崎県の大村航空基地所属機に乗っていた松田拓也３等海佐（３５）、福留崇文３等海曹（３１）、甲斐仁蔵海士長（２１）と、徳島県の小松島航空基地所属機に搭乗していた板村一輝３佐（３６）、山下夏輝３尉（２５）、広田真海曹長（４７）、堂園優作２曹（３２）の７人＝いずれも年齢、階級は事故当時。大村基地の西畑友貴２尉（２７）も死亡確認されている。葬送式は大村基地で２２日に、小松島基地で３０日に行われる。
　海自制服組トップの酒井良海上幕僚長は１１日の定例記者会見で「優秀な技量を持つ隊員８人を失ったことはまさに断腸の思いだ。事故を再び起こさないため、原因調査に基づき再発防止策を徹底していく」と話した。（2024/06/11-15:52）

Japan's Maritime Self-Defense Force said Tuesday that it has concluded that seven crew members who went missing after a collision of two MSDF patrol helicopters in April are dead.
   The collision near Torishima, a Tokyo island in the Izu chain in the Pacific, also claimed the life of a copilot, who was confirmed dead at the crash site.
   On April 20, the two SH-60K helicopters lost contact during a nighttime antisubmarine exercise. The MSDF has concluded that they collided with each other and crashed into the water, based on an analysis of the flight recorders.
   No clues have been found in the MSDF's search for the helicopters and missing crew members as the water around the crash site is more than 5,000 meters deep.
   "The incident occurred during crucial and advanced training. We've been searching hard, but it is very regrettable that we ended up in this situation," Defense Minister Minoru Kihara told a news conference.
