米ボーイング、名古屋に研究拠点　脱炭素、軽量化目指す

　米ボーイングは１８日、名古屋市に研究開発拠点「ボーイング・ジャパン・リサーチセンター」を開設した。日本に研究拠点を設けるのは初めて。航空機分野の脱炭素化に向け、天ぷら油といった廃食油などを原料とする「持続可能な航空燃料（ＳＡＦ）」の開発や、航空機の電動化に向けた取り組みを加速させる。（2024/04/18-16:59）

Boeing Opens 1st Research Base in Japan

Boeing Co. on Thursday opened a research and development base in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture, its first such facility in Japan.
At the facility, Boeing Japan Research Center, the U.S. aircraft giant will accelerate the development of sustainable aviation fuel, or SAF, made including from waste cooking oil, and the electrification of aircraft toward the decarbonization of the aviation industry.
