日立、米首都近郊に鉄道工場　８３億円投資

　日立製作所は２１日、米首都ワシントン近郊に鉄道車両製造工場を建設すると発表した。７０００万ドル（約８３億円）を投資し、米国での鉄道事業を拡大させる。今年秋に建設を始め、２０２３年末ごろから２４年初めの操業を目指す。
　日立は昨年３月、ワシントン首都圏交通局から最大８００両、２２億ドル（約２６００億円）分の地下鉄車両の製造プロジェクトを受注したと発表した。新工場では、まず同プロジェクト向けの車両を製造する。（2022/03/21-15:32）

Hitachi to Build Train Car Plant in Maryland

Japan's Hitachi Ltd. said Monday it will invest 70 million dollars to build a train car plant in Maryland, as part of its efforts to expand its train business in the United States.
The construction will begin in autumn this year. The new plant is expected to start operating around the end of 2023 or early in 2024.
