景気、コロナ禍から回復へ　金融政策正常化の影響注視―神田財務官

　財務省国際部門トップの神田真人財務官は１４日までにインタビューに応じ、新型コロナウイルス流行から約２年が経過した世界と日本の経済情勢について、ワクチン接種の普及で「比較的速やかにコロナ前の水準に戻りつつある」との見方を示した。コロナ禍直後の各国の財政・金融政策の下支えなどで「これまで金融危機は回避できた。今後は各国の物価上昇などに伴う金融政策の変更の影響を注視することが必要だ」と述べた。
　神田氏は、ワクチン接種などが進めば経済活動再開が加速し得るとの見通しを示した。コロナ禍でデジタル化など経済・産業構造の転換や格差拡大が進んだことが、新たな課題やリスクとなる可能性を挙げ、「２０カ国・地域（Ｇ２０）を含め、各国としっかり対応していく」と語った。
　一方、アフリカなどの低所得国では接種が進まず、国別の経済回復がばらついていると強調。「オミクロン株」など変異株の感染が拡大する恐れがあるとして、「世界全体へのワクチンの普及が必要だ」と訴えた。
　市場では、各国・中央銀行の政策を背景に為替の円安が進み、日本企業の原材料輸入や消費に悪影響を与えるとの懸念が出ている。神田氏は「現時点で輸入品の価格上昇は（為替よりもエネルギー価格など）輸入先の物価上昇が大きい」と指摘した上で、「円安はプラス面、マイナス面を含め重要な影響がある」と述べ、市場の動向を見極めていく考えを示した。（2022/01/15-07:08）

The Japanese and global economies are recovering to pre-coronavirus pandemic levels at a relatively fast pace thanks to vaccine rollout, Masato Kanda, Japan's vice minister of finance for international affairs, said in a recent interview.
   Further vaccine progress is expected to boost economic activities, Kanda noted.
   At the same time, he warned that changes in economic and industrial structures and a widening in economic disparities caused by the coronavirus crisis may emerge as risk factors and create fresh challenges.
   "Japan is determined to deal with them together with other countries including Group of 20 advanced and developing economies," Kanda said.
   Kanda also called for vigilance against slow vaccine rollout in poor countries, such as African nations, facilitating the spread of the omicron and other coronavirus variants.
