旭日大綬章に高橋元東北電力社長　外国人でケネディ元駐日米大使―秋の叙勲

　政府は３日付で、秋の叙勲受章者４０３６人を発表した。高橋宏明元東北電力社長（８０）と畔柳信雄元三菱東京ＵＦＪ銀行＝現三菱ＵＦＪ銀行＝頭取（７９）が旭日大綬章を受章。外国人叙勲では旭日大綬章にキャロライン・ケネディ元駐日米大使（６３）ら５人が選ばれた。発令は同日付。
　瑞宝大綬章には松本紘理化学研究所理事長（７８）、旭日重光章には森田健作（本名鈴木栄治）前千葉県知事（７１）らが選ばれた。
　学術研究の分野では、谷口維紹東京大名誉教授（７３）らが瑞宝重光章、芸術分野などの分野では、俳優の橋爪功さん（８０）、指揮者の尾高忠明さん（７３）らが旭日小綬章に決まった。
　受章者の内訳は大綬章３人、重光章４１人、中綬章３５９人、小綬章８３８人、双光章１５１４人、単光章１２８１人。女性の受章者数は４０１人だった。
　外国人叙勲は５３の国・地域から１２４人が受章。ケネディ氏のほかに、アントニオ・タヤーニ前欧州議会議長（６８）らに旭日大綬章が贈られるほか、歌手のオリビア・ニュートンジョンさん（７３）らが旭日小綬章に選ばれた。
　大綬章の親授式、重光章の伝達式は９日に、新型コロナウイルスの感染拡大で延期されていた春の叙勲の受章者と共に皇居で行われる。（2021/11/03-05:32）

The Japanese government said Wednesday that it will recognize 4,036 people in this year's autumn honors, including former Tohoku Electric Power Co. President Hiroaki Takahashi and former U.S. Ambassador to Japan Caroline Kennedy.
   The Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun will be given to Takahashi, 80, and Nobuo Kuroyanagi, 79, former president of Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, currently MUFG Bank.
   The same honor will go to five foreigners, including Kennedy, 63, and former European Parliament President Antonio Tajani, 68.
   "The honor is more than I deserve," Takahashi said in a statement. "I will strive to become of use to people."
   "I will forever be grateful for the privilege of serving as the United States ambassador, and for the chance to strength relations between two close allies who share a fundamental commitment to democracy, human rights, and the rule of law," Kennedy said in a statement issued through the Consulate-General of Japan in New York.
