帝国ホテル、本館イメージ公開　「東洋の宝石」３６年度完成へ

　帝国ホテルは２７日、建て替えを決めていた「帝国ホテル東京」（東京都千代田区）の新しい本館のイメージを公開した。コンセプトは「東洋の宝石」。玄関をはじめとする低層階には宮殿のような重厚感を持たせ、ホテル部分は後方に伸びる階段状の設計とした。２０３１年度に工事を始め、３６年度に完成予定。
　デザインには、仏パリを拠点に活動する建築家、田根剛氏を起用した。田根氏は記者会見で「上質で壮麗な、日常とは切り離された体験をしてもらう場になる」と話した。（2021/10/27-19:16）

Under the concept of the "jewel of the Orient," the new building will have a staircase-like shape, according to its finished image released by the hotel operator.
