秋田銀と岩手銀、包括業務提携　新事業やコスト削減、統合「選択肢」

　秋田銀行と岩手銀行は２７日、包括業務提携することで合意したと発表した。両行は新事業創出や業務コスト削減で協力。人口減少や低金利を背景に地方銀行の経営環境は厳しさを増しており、収益基盤の強化を狙う。同日の記者会見で両行トップは将来の経営統合を否定しなかった。
　両県でそれぞれトップシェアを誇る地銀同士の協業となる。秋田市で会見した新谷明弘・秋田銀頭取は「単独では難しい時は経営統合も必要かと思う」と指摘。田口幸雄・岩手銀頭取は「当然そういった選択肢はあり得るような時代になってきている」と述べた。（2021/10/27-12:59）

2 Northeastern Japan Regional Banks to Form Biz Tie-Up

Two regional banks in northeastern Japan, Akita Bank and Bank of Iwate , said Wednesday they have agreed to form a comprehensive business alliance.
Each of Akita Bank, based in the city of Akita, and Bank of Iwate, headquartered in Morioka, Iwate Prefecture, holds the largest market share in its namesake prefecture. They will collaborate to strengthen their earnings foundations and survive the deteriorating business environment amid shrinking populations and protracted low interest rates.
