新国立競技場が竣工　五輪主会場、鍵など引き渡し―ＪＳＣ

　２０２０年東京五輪・パラリンピックの主会場となる新国立競技場（東京都新宿区）が３０日竣工（しゅんこう）し、大成建設などの共同企業体（ＪＶ）から事業主体の日本スポーツ振興センター（ＪＳＣ）に、関係書類や鍵が引き渡された。ＪＳＣがホームページで発表した。
　新競技場は地上５階、地下２階、座席数約６万席。設計は建築家隈研吾氏らが手掛けた。コンセプトは「杜（もり）のスタジアム」で、屋根部分は木材と鉄骨を組み合わせた構造。外周のひさしには４７都道府県から調達した木材を配している。
　世界最高水準のユニバーサルデザインをうたい、車いす席を約５００席、障害者らに配慮したアクセシブルトイレを約１００カ所設けた。

　暑さ対策では、ミスト冷却設備８カ所、観客席に風を送る「気流創出ファン」１８５台を設置。医務室のほか、空調付き休憩室１６室、救護室９室も確保した。
　１９６４年東京五輪の主会場となった旧国立競技場を取り壊し、跡地に建設。当初採用された計画案が整備費膨張への批判から白紙撤回される混乱もあったが、最終的な整備費は約１５６９億円となり、整備計画上限約１５９０億円を下回った。２０１６年１２月の着工から３年で完成となった。
　ＪＳＣの大東和美理事長はホームページで「私どもは、この競技場を日本のスポーツ振興の中核拠点として、多くの人がトップレベルスポーツに触れ、スポーツへの関心・参画意欲を高める機会を提供していく使命がある」とコメントした。今後の名称は「国立競技場」となる。（2019/11/30-12:40）

Construction of the new National Stadium, the main venue for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games, was completed on Saturday, the Japan Sport Council said on its website the same day.
   Related documents and keys were handed over from a consortium of companies engaged with the construction, such as Taisei Corp. , to the Japan Sport Council, the stadium operator.
   The stadium, named the Japan National Stadium, was designed by Japanese architect Kengo Kuma and others. It has five levels aboveground and two basement floors, with some 60,000 seats.
   Under the concept of a stadium in forests, timbers are used in combination with steel frames to make up the roof. The eaves on the perimeter of the roof are made of woods procured from the country's 47 prefectures.
   Boasting a universal design at the world's highest level, the stadium has some 500 wheelchair-accessible seats and about 100 restrooms accessible by people with disabilities.
