コロナ治療薬の治験開始　飲み薬、ウイルス増殖抑制―塩野義製薬

　塩野義製薬は２６日、新型コロナウイルス治療薬の臨床試験（治験）を国内で始めたと発表した。ウイルスの増殖を抑制する飲み薬で、早期の服用で重症化を防ぎ、発熱などの症状を改善する効果が期待されている。
　２２日に始めた第１段階の治験については健康な成人７５人を対象に実施しており、安全性を検証する。用量は１日１回の服用を目指す。第２段階の治験以降のスケジュールは未定。
　同社が開発中の新型コロナワクチンは、国内で第１・第２段階の治験が進められている。国から早期承認を得られれば、年内に提供できる見通しだ。（2021/07/26-16:12）

Shionogi & Co. said Monday it has started a clinical trial in Japan for an orally administered drug for COVID-19, caused by the novel coronavirus.
The medicine, which can quickly reduce the amount of the coronavirus in the body, is expected to be effective in preventing fever and other symptoms from becoming severe and improving conditions if it is taken early in the infection, according to the major Japanese drugmaker.
