香港デモで邦人男性拘束　菅官房長官

　菅義偉官房長官は１９日の記者会見で、反政府デモが続く香港で２０代の邦人男性１人が現地当局に身柄を拘束されたことを明らかにした。菅氏は「けがもなく体調は良好ということだ」と説明。氏名や拘束理由などについては「事柄の性質上、答えることは控える」と確認を避けた。
　茂木敏充外相は会見で「香港に留学している学生ではなく、日本から旅行に行った２０代男性だ」と語った。
　男性は１７日にデモ隊と警官隊の衝突が続く九竜地区の香港理工大周辺で拘束された。１８日に在香港日本総領事館の職員が面会した。（2019/11/19-11:27）

Hong Kong authorities have taken a Japanese man in his 20s into custody amid prodemocracy protests in the former British colony, Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga said Tuesday.
   "We hear he is in good health condition with no injury," Suga told a press conference. The top government spokesman declined to disclose the man's name or the reason for his detention.
   Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi, at a separate news conference, said the man is not a student attending school in Hong Kong but a tourist.
   The man was held on Sunday near Hong Kong Polytechnic University in the Kowloon district, where the clash between protesters and police is continuing.
   While in detention, he was visited by officials from the Japanese consulate-general in Hong Kong on Monday.
