ゴーン被告、改めて「無実」　逮捕１年、弁護団が声明―日産事件

　日産自動車の前会長カルロス・ゴーン被告（６５）が東京地検特捜部に逮捕され１年となった１９日、同被告の弁護団は声明を発表し、改めて「ゴーン氏は無実」と訴えた。声明は「真実に反する嫌疑に断固として対抗する」と強調。「ゴーン氏の決意が揺らぐことはない。ゴーン氏は潔白を証明し、家族と再会する機会を心待ちにしている」とした。
　弁護団は、長期間に及んだ身柄拘束や妻キャロルさんとの接触を禁止した保釈条件について、「公正な裁判を受ける権利の侵害」などと批判。「検察はゴーン氏を有罪にすることに懸命になり、無罪推定とは反対の態度を示している」と訴えた。
　声明は、１２０日以上の勾留を伴った捜査を「独立性を欠き、不公正な日産の調査に依拠した」とも非難。「不適正で違法な捜査はゴーン氏が２０年にわたり身をささげてきた日産に回復不能な損害を与え、株式価値を著しく毀損（きそん）した」と続けた。（2019/11/19-10:21）

The defense team of former Nissan Motor Co. Chairman Carlos Ghosn reiterated its claim of his innocence Tuesday, the first anniversary of his arrest in Japan for alleged financial misconduct.
   In a statement, the team expressed its readiness to "adamantly refute charges" against Ghosn, 65.
   Ghosn's determination is "unshakable," and he is "looking forward to the opportunity to prove his innocence and reunite with his family," the defense said.
   Ghosn was kept in detention for over 120 days in total after his initial arrest a year ago. Three weeks after his fourth and last arrest, he was released April 25 this year on bail conditions including a ban on getting contact with his wife.
   The prolonged detention and the bail conditions "violated his right to face a fair trial," the defense said, criticizing prosecutors for taking a stance opposite to the principle of presumed innocence.
