東芝の永山議長、改革後に辞任検討　ＣＥＯ選定が課題―米紙に語る

　【ニューヨーク時事】東芝の永山治取締役会議長（社外取締役）は１６日までに、米紙ウォール・ストリート・ジャーナル（電子版）とのインタビューで、ガバナンス（企業統治）改革の道筋をつけ、綱川智会長兼社長（最高経営責任者＝ＣＥＯ＝）の後任選定を終えた後に、自らの辞任を検討する考えを明らかにした。
　永山氏はこの中で、取締役の刷新によってガバナンスをめぐる問題を解決し、長期間経営を担えるＣＥＯを選定することが「二つの重要な課題だ」と説明した。
　その上で「すべてが正しく行われたときが、辞任を検討する適切な時期だ」と語った。新たな取締役に関しては、企業経営の経験がある人物が必要だとの認識も示した。（2021/06/17-10:04）

Toshiba Board Chair Considering Stepping Down after Reform

Osamu Nagayama, chairman of Toshiba Corp.'s board of directors, has indicated that he will consider resigning after putting the Japanese company's governance reform on track, The Wall Street Journal reported in its online edition.
Speaking in an interview with the business daily, Nagayama, an outside director, said that solving Toshiba's governance problems through a change in board directors and picking a successor to current President and Chairman Satoshi Tsunakawa to take the company's helm for a long time are "two major tasks."
