国内感染、新たに６２４４人　重症は最多１１７６人―新型コロナ

　国内では１１日、新たに６２４４人の新型コロナウイルス感染が確認された。重症者は前日比２４人増の１１７６人となり、４日連続で過去最多を更新。死者は大阪府で過去最多の５５人が報告されるなど、全国で１１３人に上った。
　死者数が１００人を超えるのは４日ぶり。重症者は１１日連続で１０００人を超えた。
　東京都では、新たに９２５人の感染が確認された。都によると、新規感染者の直近１週間平均は８２４．３人で前週比９７．９％となった。都基準による重症者は前日比３人増の８１人。
　大阪府の新規感染者は９７４人。死者は大半が７０代以上だが、４０代の男女計２人、５０代の男性３人も含まれている。府の独自指標に基づく重症病床使用率は１５８％超で、依然として医療体制の逼迫（ひっぱく）が続いている。
　このほか、新潟（５５人）、愛知（５７８人）、熊本（１１７人）各県で１日当たりの感染者数が過去最多を更新した。（2021/05/11-22:00）

Severe COVID-19 Patients in Japan Rise Further to 1,177

The ongoing number of severely ill COVID-19 patients in Japan increased 25 from the previous day to 1,177 on Tuesday, staying above 1,000 for the 11th straight day and hitting a record high for the fourth successive day, according to the health ministry.
   In Tokyo, the metropolitan government newly confirmed 925 people as positive for the coronavirus that causes COVID-19 disease.
   The Japanese capital's daily tally of new coronavirus cases rose by 316 from a week earlier and topped 900 for the first time in four days. The daily tally averaged 824.3 for the last week, down 2.1 pct from the preceding week.
   Under the metropolitan government's own criteria, the number of severe cases in Tokyo climbed three from the previous day to 81.
