Shionogi & Co. is now unlikely to start the shipments of a novel coronavirus vaccine it is developing by the end of this year, according to informed sources.
This is because the Japanese drug maker is finding it difficult to conduct within 2021 the final phase of the vaccine's clinical trial involving tens of thousands of participants at a time when COVID-19 vaccinations are being rolled out around the world, the sources said Tuesday.
