トヨタが実証都市の起工式　静岡の工場跡、自動運転など検証

　トヨタ自動車は２３日、静岡県裾野市の工場跡地で、自動運転技術などの実証都市「ウーブン・シティ」の起工式を開いた。豊田章男社長のほか、開発を担うグループ会社幹部の長男・大輔氏、静岡県の川勝平太知事ら出席の下、地鎮祭を行い安全を祈った。工事は３月から始まるが、「未完の実験場」を理由に、完成時期を明らかにしていない。
　豊田社長は、グループの将来が懸かる次世代技術の開発拠点として近未来都市の新設を計画。関係会社に多額の私財を投じ、自らリスクを取る姿勢を強調している。式典では「多様性を持った人々が幸せに暮らせる未来の創造に挑戦する」と意気込みを示した。（2021/02/23-16:48）

Toyota Breaks Ground for "Woven City" Real-Life Lab

Toyota Motor Corp. on Tuesday held a groundbreaking ceremony for a real-life test laboratory called Woven City to be built in Shizuoka Prefecture near Mount Fuji.
In Woven City, next-generation technologies will be tested in a real-world environment, such as those related to autonomous driving, personal mobility, artificial intelligence, robotics and smart homes.
