吉野氏ら文化勲章＝功労者は玉三郎さんら

　政府は２９日、２０１９年度の文化勲章を、ノーベル化学賞受賞が決まった電気化学の吉野彰・旭化成名誉フェロー（７１）や狂言の野村萬氏＝本名野村太良＝（８９）ら６人に贈ると発表した。文化功労者には吉野氏と、歌舞伎の坂東玉三郎氏＝本名守田伸一＝（６９）、映画の大林宣彦氏（８１）、メディア芸術（ゲーム）で「マリオの生みの親」として知られる宮本茂・任天堂代表取締役フェロー（６６）ら２１人を選んだ。
　文化勲章の親授式は１１月３日に皇居で、文化功労者の顕彰式は同５日に東京都内のホテルで行われる。

　文化勲章を受けるのは他に、数理工学の甘利俊一（８３）、免疫学の坂口志文（６８）、政治学の佐々木毅（７７）、写真の田沼武能（９０）の４氏。女性は３年連続で選ばれなかった。
　他の文化功労者は、映画評論の佐藤忠男＝本名飯利忠男＝（８９）、照明デザインの石井幹子（８１）、経済学の猪木武徳（７４）、短歌の馬場あき子＝本名岩田暁子＝（９１）、俳句の宇多喜代子（８４）、コンピュータービジョン・ロボット工学の金出武雄（７４）、中国古典文学の興膳宏（８３）、国語史学・国際交流の小林芳規（９０）、時間生物学の近藤孝男（７１）、社会貢献・国際貢献・文化振興の笹川陽平（８０）、作物ゲノム学・学術振興の佐々木卓治（７２）、日本画の田渕俊夫（７８）、組踊の宮城能鳳＝本名徳村正吉＝（８１）、漫画の萩尾望都（７０）、障害者スポーツ振興の藤原進一郎（８７）、分子薬理学の柳沢正史（５９）、文化振興・国際交流・著作権の渡辺美佐（９１）の各氏。
　文化勲章では数理工学と写真が初めての受章。文化功労者は文化芸術基本法を踏まえ、新分野にも着目して昨年度は５人増の２０人だった。今年度はさらに多い２１人で、映画評論など１２分野が初の顕彰となった。（2019/10/29-11:52）

Akira Yoshino, 71, one of the three laureates of this year's Nobel Prize in Chemistry, and five others will be awarded the Order of Culture for this year, the Japanese government said Tuesday.
   The five others are Japanese "kyogen" traditional comic play actor Nomura Man, 89, mathematical engineering scholar Shunichi Amari, 83, immunologist Shimon Sakaguchi, 68, political scientist Takeshi Sasaki, 77, and photographer Takeyoshi Tanuma, 90.
   No woman was named a recipient of the national award for the third straight year.
   Amari is the first to win the recognition in the mathematical engineering field. Tanuma is the first photographer to be honored with the prestigious medal.
   The Order of Culture "varies in importance" compared to science-related awards, Yoshino, honorary fellow of Japanese chemical maker Asahi Kasei Corp. , said, expressing his delight at being recognized for his contribution to culture as a whole.
