発着時間、初の延長＝機能強化第１弾－成田空港

　成田空港は２７日から、深夜の発着時間を従来の午後１１時までから翌午前０時までに延長する。延長は１９７８年の開港以来初めて。３本目となるＣ滑走路新設やＢ滑走路延伸など空港機能強化の第１弾だ。
　外国人観光客の増加を背景に、２０２０年東京五輪・パラリンピックを見据えて行う。２４時間発着でき、国際線発着枠が増える羽田空港への対抗意識もにじむ。
　発着時間延長に伴い、午後１１時台の発着は週３０回となる。午後１０時以降は従来の週１０６回から１２６回に増える。ただ、午後１０時以降に新規参入するのは貨物機の週１回の出発のみ。ほかは従来のダイヤから出発・到着の時刻を遅らせる形だ。（2019/10/26-16:17）

Narita International Airport, near Tokyo, will extend its operating hours from until 11 p.m. to until midnight, beginning Sunday.
   This will be the first operating hour extension at the airport in Narita, Chiba Prefecture, east of the capital, since it went into service in 1978.
   The extension is part of the airport's efforts to enhance its functions to prepare for the expected increase in the number of foreign visitors ahead of the 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games. Other steps include extending Runway B and building a third runway.
   The move is also seen as countering the increase in the number of international flights serviced at Tokyo International Airport at Haneda, which runs around the clock.
   A weekly total of 30 departing and arriving flights will be assigned slots in the additional hour in late night operations at Narita. The number of departures and arrivals between 10 p.m. and the end of operations for the day will increase from 106 to 126.
