北陸新幹線浸水、観光に打撃＝直通運転再開に期待－石川・富山

　台風１９号の影響で１２０両の車両が浸水し、東京と金沢を結ぶ北陸新幹線の直通運転が中止されてから１週間余りが過ぎた。秋の行楽シーズンを迎えた石川、富山両県の宿泊施設には予約客からキャンセルが相次いだが、直通運転は２５日に再開されることが決まった。地元観光業者は「本当に良かった」（金沢・兼六園内の食事処）と胸をなで下ろしているが、台風で全国に８０人超の犠牲者が出ており、引き続き観光需要への影響を懸念する声も上がっている。
　「売り上げへの影響は先週末までに１０００万円超」「今月は約５００件のキャンセルが出るだろう」。金沢市内の複数のホテルの営業担当者は、想定外だった台風１９号の余波に戸惑いを隠せない。直通運転の再開は決まったものの、富山駅前のビジネスホテルの支配人は「運行ダイヤが公表されておらず、入るべき出張予約は依然として入らない」と嘆く。
　２０１５年３月に開業した北陸新幹線は、乗り換えなしで東京－金沢を最短２時間２８分、東京－富山を同２時間８分で結び、それまでの最短所要時間を１時間以上短縮。訪日外国人を含め首都圏から観光客を呼び込んだ。
　一方、開業から４年半の間に「新しいホテルも増え、競争は激しくなった。供給過多に陥っているかもしれない」（金沢市のホテル）とされる。それだけに、宿泊客の減少が業績に及ぼす影響は小さくないとみられる。
　兼六園の先週の入園者は前年同期比２～３割減少。日本有数の深いV字峡谷を縫うように走るトロッコ電車を運行する黒部峡谷鉄道（富山県黒部市）も、「１８日までに約５２００人のキャンセルが出た」と明かす。
　北陸新幹線について、谷本正憲石川県知事は「日本海側の大動脈」、石井隆一富山県知事は「ビジネス面でも観光面でも大事な大事なインフラだ」と強調する。ただ、直通運転が再開されても当面、運行本数は従来の９割にとどまり、全面復旧には至らない。
　また、「台風であれだけの被害が出て天皇即位祝賀パレードが延期された中、旅行に出掛けようという気になるのか」（ベニズワイガニを提供する富山県射水市の飲食店関係者）と、観光需要の回復には時間がかかるとの見方も出ている。（2019/10/22-07:08）

The disruption of Shinkansen bullet train services forced by Typhoon Hagibis is casting a dark shadow over tourism in Toyama and Ishikawa prefectures in the Hokuriku central Japan region on the Sea of Japan side amid the autumn sightseeing season.
   Ten 12-car Hokuriku Shinkansen trains at an East Japan Railway Co. depot in the central prefecture of Nagano, near Toyama and Ishikawa, were inundated due to the flooding of the nearby Chikuma River caused by the 19th typhoon of the year earlier this month.
   The company, better known as JR East, and West Japan Railway Co. , or JR West, have said that direct services between Tokyo and Kanazawa stations on the Hokuriku Shinkansen Line will resume next Friday, after the suspension of a section of the line, although the number of trains traveling between the two terminals will be reduced from the normal level. Kanazawa Station is located in the Ishikawa capital of Kanazawa.
   The news made tourism-related people in Toyama and Ishikawa breathe a sigh of relief. "I'm really glad," said an official of a restaurant in the Kenrokuen garden, one of major sightseeing spots in Kanazawa.
   Still, some voiced concern, after the typhoon, which struck eastern and central Japan on Oct. 12-13, has left more than 80 people dead. A hotel business official in Kanazawa said that the typhoon has dented revenue by over 10 million yen, while another expects cancellations of some 500 reservations this month.
