北陸新幹線、２５日に全線再開＝通常運行の９割－ＪＲ東

　ＪＲ東日本は１８日、台風１９号の影響により一部区間で運行を停止していた北陸新幹線の全線（東京－金沢）での直通運転を２５日に再開すると発表した。全体では通常の８割程度の運行本数となるが、直通は９割を確保する。詳細なダイヤは２３日に発表する。
　当初は全線再開しても５～６割程度になると見込んでいた。検査中や予備の車両を活用することで、運行本数の減少を抑える。今年度中に完成予定の車両５編成も投入することで、本数を順次増やす。

　浸水した長野新幹線車両センター（長野市）や置かれていた１０編成１２０両の被害状況も明らかになってきた。変電施設などが水に漬かったほか、車両は客席の座面まで浸水していた。２編成は脱線し、うち１編成は１０～１５メートルほど移動していたという。（2019/10/18-18:43）

East Japan Railway Co. , or JR East, said Friday that direct services between Tokyo and Kanazawa stations on the Hokuriku Shinkansen bullet train line will be resumed on Oct. 25, after partial suspension forced by powerful Typhoon Hagibis.
   The total number of trains running on the line will be about 80 pct of the usual timetable. Meanwhile, the number of trains connecting Tokyo Station and Kanazawa Station, which is located in Kanazawa, the capital of Ishikawa Prefecture, central Japan, will be about 90 pct of normal.
   A detailed timetable will be published on Wednesday. The two stations are the terminals of the high-speed train line.
   Damage from the 19th typhoon of the year, which struck mainly eastern and central Japan last weekend, has led to the suspension of services between Nagano and Joetsumyoko stations on the Shinkansen line. The decision to resume Tokyo-Kanazawa direct services came as restoration work is set to be completed and safe train operations will be ensured, according to JR East.
   The Hokuriku Shinkansen Line, jointly operated by JR East and West Japan Railway Co. , or JR West, was initially expected to restart only 50 to 60 pct of services even after all of its sections were reopened, as heavy rains from the typhoon inundated 10 12-car trains for the line at a JR East-managed rail yard in the central Japan city of Nagano.
