大嘗宮建設、急ピッチ＝儀式まで１カ月、台風影響も－皇位継承

　天皇陛下の即位に伴う重要儀式「大嘗祭」に向け、皇居では儀式の舞台となる大嘗宮（だいじょうきゅう）の建設が急ピッチで進められている。主要儀式の「大嘗宮の儀」が行われるのは、約１カ月後の１１月１４日夕から翌１５日未明にかけて。宮内庁は１０月中の完成を目指し、作業を急ぐ。
　大嘗宮の建設場所は、皇居・東御苑の旧江戸城本丸跡にある約９０メートル四方（６５１０平方メートル）の敷地。７月の着工以降、天皇陛下が主要儀式を行われる悠紀（ゆき）殿と主基（すき）殿、儀式前の準備に使う廻立殿（かいりゅうでん）の主要三殿をはじめ、大小３０余りの建物が次々に建てられた。工事期間中も東御苑は入園可能で、誰でも作業の様子を見学できる。

　建設現場では、主な建物の屋根部分の作業がほぼ完了。シートや足場が取り払われ、大嘗宮全体の姿が見て取れるようになった。ただ、主要儀式が行われる悠紀殿と主基殿は外周部分が未完成で、参列者用の「幄舎（あくしゃ）」もまだ骨組みの段階。台風１９号の影響も懸念されている。
　宮内庁管理課の石原秀樹課長は「建物が完成次第、儀式のリハーサルを行わなければならないため、作業日程に余裕はない。予定通り完成できるよう、万全の準備を進めていく」と話す。
　大嘗宮の建設工事は、一般競争入札で清水建設が予定価格の６割に当たる９億５７００万円（税込み）で落札。経費削減などのため、主要三殿の屋根材は伝統的なかやぶきから板ぶきに変更され、大嘗宮全体の規模は前回の８割程度に縮小された。（2019/10/12-13:38）

Japan's Imperial Household Agency is accelerating work to construct by the end of this month "Daijokyu," a set of halls for the key "Daijosai" thanksgiving ceremony to be performed by Emperor Naruhito about a month later.
   "Daijokyu-no-Gi," a centerpiece in the ceremony, is scheduled to take place from the evening of Nov. 14 to the small hours of the following day.
   Daijokyu will be built at the location of the now-dismantled Edo Castle's main building in the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace in Tokyo's Chiyoda Ward. The site takes up about 6,510 square meters.
   A total of 30 large and small halls, including "Yukiden" and "Sukiden," where the Emperor will perform major rites, and "Kairyuden," a facility to be used for final preparations for the ceremony, have been built. The construction work began in July.
   The East Gardens remain open to the public during the construction work, with visitors allowed to view progress and how the work is going.
