石破首相、新駐日米大使と会談

　石破茂首相は２２日、先週着任したジョージ・グラス駐日米大使と首相官邸で初めて会談した。首相は「大使の下で日米同盟がさらに強固になり、世界のために力を尽くす（ものになる）ことを期待する」と語った。大使は「友情を強化したい」と応じた。
　林芳正官房長官は記者会見で「駐日大使は両国の架け橋の役割を担う重要な役職だ。日米関係のために尽力いただくことを期待する」と述べた。（2025/04/22-10:34）

PM Ishiba Meets with New U.S. Envoy to Japan Glass

Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba on Tuesday held his first meeting with new U.S. Ambassador to Japan George Glass, who arrived in Tokyo last week.
   "I hope that the Japan-U.S. alliance will be further strengthened under the ambassador's leadership," Ishiba said in the meeting at the prime minister's office. The ambassador said that he wanted to strengthen the friendship between the two countries.
   At a press conference, Japan's Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshimasa Hayashi said, "The ambassador to Japan is an important position that serves as a bridge between the two countries."
   "I hope that (Glass) will work hard for Japan-U.S. relations," he added.
