建設費増額、最大２３５０億円　２度目の上振れ決定―大阪・関西万博

　２０２５年大阪・関西万博の会場建設費を巡り、日本国際博覧会協会が最大２３５０億円に増額する見通しを示したことに関し、西村康稔経済産業相は２日、受け入れる意向を表明した。政府と共に３分の１ずつ費用負担する大阪府・市と経済界は１日に容認姿勢を示しており、建設費の上振れが正式に決まった。
　会場建設費は当初、１２５０億円としていたが、２０年１２月、暑さ対策などで１８５０億円に引き上げられており、今回で２度目の増額。建設費は当初想定の約１．９倍となる。国、大阪府・市、経済界の３者は最大約７８３億円ずつ負担する。政府は工事の進展に応じて予算計上する方針で、一部費用を２３年度補正予算案に盛り込む。（2023/11/02-16:51）

Japan's government is now ready to allow the construction cost for the venue of the 2025 World Exposition in the western Japan city of Osaka to rise further to up to 235 billion yen as estimated by its organizer.
   "Considering rising prices and other factors, there is no other choice," industry minister Yasutoshi Nishimura told a press conference on Thursday. Nishimura said he hopes to make the expo a "wonderful event that gives hope to all people."
   The construction cost is set to be split equally by three parties--the central government, the Osaka prefectural and city governments, and the business community. The Osaka governments and the business community on Wednesday indicated their readiness to accept the increased estimate from the Japan Association for the 2025 World Exposition.
   The cost estimate was raised for the second time. The cost was first put at 125 billion yen and was raised to 185 billion yen in December 2020.
   The current estimate is about 1.9 times higher than the original projection.
