山口３区、林外相で調整　衆院解散にらみ擁立加速―自民

　自民党は、次期衆院選で小選挙区が４から３に減る山口県の新３区（下関市など）の公認候補予定者に、林芳正外相（旧３区選出）を充てる方向で調整に入った。党幹部が７日、明らかにした。故安倍晋三元首相の後継候補として下関市を含む旧４区から４月の補欠選挙で当選した吉田真次氏は、比例代表で処遇する案が出ている。早期の衆院解散・総選挙が取り沙汰される中、空白区の擁立作業を加速させる。
　山口県連の友田有幹事長（県議）は７日、党本部で森山裕選対委員長と面会。新３区には林、吉田両氏が出馬を希望していると伝え、森山氏は「早急に調整したい」と応じた。近く党として最終決定する見通し。新１区（山口市など）には高村正大氏、新２区（岩国市など）には岸信千世氏の両現職を公認する方向だ。
　衆院小選挙区の「１０増１０減」により、旧４区が新３区に編入されるため、地盤の重なる林、吉田両氏の調整が課題だった。党内では、林氏が文部科学相など閣僚経験が豊富で総裁候補の一人でもあることから「林氏の３区公認は当然」（党幹部）との見方がもともと強かった。林氏は岸田派座長も務める。
　一方、吉田氏は安倍氏夫人の昭恵さんの全面支援を受け、安倍氏後継として補選を戦った経緯もあり、安倍派として容易に引き下がれない。地元後援会にも「無所属でも出るべきだ」との強硬論がくすぶる。岸田文雄首相（党総裁）は７日、同派の塩谷立会長代理から吉田氏公認を求められると「非常に難しい判断だ」と述べるにとどめた。
　当初１３４区あった１０増１０減の要調整選挙区のうち、山口県が決着すれば、自民の未調整区は東京や和歌山など１５選挙区となる。野党の選挙準備の遅れが指摘される中、自民党内には機先を制する形での早期解散を支持する声もある。党幹部は「６月中旬くらいには全て候補者を決めたい」と語った。（2023/06/08-07:04）

Japan's ruling Liberal Democratic Party is considering naming Foreign Minister Yoshimasa Hayashi as its official candidate in a new No. 3 House of Representatives constituency in the western prefecture of Yamaguchi in the next Lower House election, it was learned Wednesday.
   The LDP is expected to ask Lower House member Shinji Yoshida, who took over the Yamaguchi No. 4 constituency from the late Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in a by-election in April, to run in the next Lower House election as a proportional representation candidate, informed sources said.
   The No. 4 district will be merged with the current No. 3 constituency as a result of a major change in the demarcation of single-seat constituencies for the all-important lower chamber of the Diet, the country's parliament, to reduce vote-value disparities.
   The LDP is rushing to pick candidates amid growing speculation that the Lower House will be dissolved shortly for a snap election, people familiar with the situation said.
   Hayashi holds the current Yamaguchi No. 3 constituency.
